‘3.1운동 100주년 기념공간에 나의 이름을 새긴다’에 동참해주신 동포여러분들께 진심으로 감사드립니다!

서울 탑골공원과 삼일대로 시민공간에 이름을 새기는 3.1운동 100주년 기념공간에 나의 이름을 새긴다’ 프로젝트에 북가주지역에서는 1,031명의 기부자를 목표로 지난 12월 31일까지 진행됐습니다.  

 

동포여러분과 한인단체들의 큰 관심과 후원으로 당초 참여 목표를 훌쩍 뛰어넘어 2,331명이 동참해 주셨습니다. 이 사업은 3.1운동의 무대인 삼일대로(안국역-탑골공원 후문)에 조성되는 시민공간에 최소 31달러를 기부하면 바닥 벽돌과 벤치에 이름을 새길 수 있는 것으로 서울시와 주최측인 사단법인 ‘사람숲’은 해외지역에서는 샌프란시스코와 상하이만 참여토록 했습니다.

 

샌프란시스코는 해외 독립운동의 시초이자 이 지역의 한인들이 노동으로 번 돈을 상해로 보내 대한민국 임시정부의 건립 자금에 쓰이도록 하는 등 대한독립의 역사에 빠질 수 없기 때문에 샌프란시스코를 '3.1운동 100주년 기념공간에 나의 이름을 새긴다’ 프로젝트에 동참하도록 한 것입니다.

위안부 기림비 건립운동을 통해 역사와 인도주의에 기초한 참된 용기, 국경과 인종을 넘는 연대를 세상에 입증한 여러분, 2019년은 3.1운동 100주년입니다.

 

이를 기념하여 서울시는 탑골공원 후문광장과 삼일대로 일대에 ‘시민공간’을 조성합니다. 5군데에 작은 공원을 만드는 이 사업에 샌프란시스코 교민들을 비롯하여 누구나 자발적 기부를 통한 참여가 가능합니다. 기념공원 걸상(벤치)과 바닥(벽돌)에는 기부자들의 이름을 새길 예정입니다.

And in so doing, you have demonstrated excellence in bravery, patriotism, and commitment to humanity. 
This March 1st, 2019 is Korea's centennial celebration. Because of your outstanding service work to our nation and her people, we'd like to extend a unique invitation to you, the Northern California community, to be a part of our history. Join us by purchasing a commemorative brick or bench plaque with the name of you, your family, a loved one, or organization to be permanently installed in one of the 5 locations you see here. By doing this, we share our love of country and respect for humanity across borders and oceans. We share our celebration with the peoples and nations of the world.

Commemorative Ground Tiles for Purchase and Installation in Seoul Dimensions: 6" tall and 31.5" long.
Because of limited space, a person's name may only be listed once. 
A single name on a tile is $31. 
You may purchase a whole tile and all four of its name places for $124. 
Text size does not differ whether you use 1, 2, 3, or all four name spaces on a purchased tile. 
Organizations, like individuals, may only be listed once and may purchase tiles for $93. 

Commemorative Bench Engravings for Purchase and Installation in Seoul Dimensions: 40" long, 18" wide, 16" tall. 
Each bench displays 120-200 names of individuals or families If you should need a receipt, please provide your email address with your purchase.
